You can use Direct Internet Access to connect to the Internet and then launch your AOL software to connect to your AOL account. AOL will reduce your monthly fee to $9.95! AOL calls it BYOA (Bring your own access). Follow these simple instructions below and then go to AOL keyword "billing" and change your AOL account to the $9.95 option (Bring your own access BYOA).

First, sign up with Direct Internet Access by clicking here then follow these simple instructions below:

1. Connect to the Internet using your Direct Internet Access account.
2. Launch the AOL program on your computer and Click the Setup button.
3. Select Create a location for use with a new access phone number or ISP. Then click Next.
4. In the ADD LOCATION NAME field enter Direct Internet Access.
5. Select Add a custom connection (for example TCP/IP). Then click Next.
6. In the SELECT LOCATION field select ISP/LAN Connection and click Sign On.
7. You are now connected to AOL through Direct Internet Access.

Whenever you are ready to connect to AOL after connecting to Direct Internet Access, all you need to do is launch AOL and make sure ISP/LAN Connection is selected and press the Sign On button.
